During the Iran war, I experienced three painful months without internet. I had an old laptop at home that I used as a server, connected through my home router with an internal IP address. I used this server to access a simple Wikipedia mirror and a simple dictionary as an alternative to the internet.
After the internet blackout, I tried to connect using Tor on my server, but it could not connect to the Tor network like my laptop could. I looked at the Tor Browser code on my laptop and saw that it had many saved configurations from years of connecting from Iran. My server did not have these configurations. I moved all the saved code from my laptop to my server, and then my server could connect successfully. It worked because it had experience saved as code.
I realized that humans are the same. We are not only 50 years old — we are 4 billion years old. Our ancestors fought to survive outside the ocean, to live on land, and to build civilizations. That experience is stored in our biology and culture. If we could fully access all of that stored experience across every generation, we would never think of ourselves as young or weak. Humans have always dreamed of living among the stars — and I do not think that is wrong.
